ARABIAN ADVENTURE AWAITS
Dubai U.A.E.
A taxi from the airport to the port or the center takes around 30 minutes. For an overview of this sprawling city, ascend the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world. Cruise from Dubai to step back in time in the Al Fahidi Historical District, and visit the Dubai Museum to learn about the fast evolution from fishing and pearling village to a global center of commerce, finance and tourism.
Abu Dhabi
Once a small fishing village, the capital of the United Arab Emirates today is one of the worlds most modern, cosmopolitan city. Cruise to Abu Dhabi and visit the Heritage Village to step back in time to a pre-oil desert lifestyle. Admire the fascinating museum exhibits, explore the Bedouin encampment and browse the small shops in the rebuilt traditional souq village. Next, relax on the sandy Saadiyat or Yas public beach and take a dip in the warm, turquoise sea water. End your visit with a tour of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, an architectural marvel with gold-plated chandeliers and the worlds largest hand-woven carpet.
Sir Bani Yas Island
Sir Bani Yas Island is part of the Al Gharbia region of the United Arab Emirates. Its dominated by the Arabian Wildlife Park, with its roaming giraffes, cheetahs and gazelles. Multiple archaeological sites across the island include the ruins of an ancient Christian monastery. Salt dome hills define the island's desert interior. The coast features beaches, sea kayak routes and a shipwreck.
Doha
Qatars capital is a city in the making. Once a small fishing and pearling town, the city has undergone tremendous growth: Today, its a mix of ultra-modernity and classical culture. Cruise to Doha and start your visit in the reinvented and atmospheric Souq Waqif, the standing market where you can peruse the stalls full of colorful, fragrant spices and ornate, handwoven traditional garments. Then, marvel at the treasures in the world-class Museum of Islamic Art, where youll find ancient Persian rugs, Turkish mosaics and other pieces of traditional handicraft. Next, take a taxi to Katara Cultural Village: Built in 2010, its a modern reinvention of classic Qatar architecture, with many small, hidden alleys and a huge marble amphitheatre at its center.
Al Manamah, Bahrain
As Bahrain’s capital, the port of Al Manamah—or Manama as it is often referred to—is home to a very diverse population, with Portuguese, Middle Eastern, and British influences evident throughout the centuries.
