ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS:

Falkland Islands - home to more penguin tours than any other port! Stroll down the lagoon’s white, sandy beaches, home to thousands of king and Gentoo penguins, sea lions and a number of other bird species, an unbelievable sight to witness!

Punta Arenas - If Punta Arenas exudes an "edge of the world" air, it's not without reason. This windblown city near Chile's southernmost tip sits on the Strait of Magellan, which itself is positioned squarely between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Ushuaia - Dramatic, fantastical, otherworldly—this is the end of the world, for real. Positioned at the southernmost tip of Argentina, this memorable port town is cradled between the pristine—and towering—Martial Mountains and accessed by the picturesque Beagle Channel.

Cruising Chilean Fjords - Much like the Norwegian coastline, the west coast of Chile is sliced by dramatic inlets, or fjords, lined with rugged mountains and glacier-covered valleys.

San Antonio (Santiago) - This large, modern port serves Chile’s capital, Santiago, a city with Spanish colonial charm and a vivacious spirit. Encircled by the Andes and the Coastal Range, Santiago is centred around the Plaza de Armas, with several of the city’s landmarks.

Callao (Lima) - Lima is a booming energetic metropolis built on ancient foundations millennia in the making. The call at the port of Callo for Lima, Peru, is a double overnight, with overland excursions to Macchu Pichu or the Galapagos Islands.

Panama Canal  - This is an incredible experience, worthy of any bucket list as you travel between oceans. The shipping channel—which took 33 years to complete and cost more than 25,000 workers their lives—is arguably the greatest engineering achievement of all time.

As you cruise the canal, you will pass through the two-chambered Miraflores Locks, the one-chambered Pedro Miguel Lock, and three-chambered Gatún Locks. Along the way you'll find Gatún Lake, once the largest manmade lake in the world, which has proved a boon for species that thrive here, undisturbed by the ships passing by.

Cruise ship: Oosterdam
, a Vista-class ship, recently emerged from dry dock with exciting updates—including completely refreshed suites and new lounge, dining and entertainment venues, such as Music Walk™, with Lincoln Center Stage, B.B. King’s Blues Club and Billboard Onboard. Guests can choose from among delectable specialty restaurants, hone culinary skills with EXC Port to Table and thrill to BBC Earth Experiences.
