Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the beating heart of Iceland. The city was founded in 1786, but its also the site of Icelands first permanent settlement, dating back to 874 AD. Check out the Settlement Exhibition, a combination archaeological ruin and museum based around a 10th-century longhouse, where interactive technology and archaeology reveal historical Iceland. The church Hallgrimskirkja dominates the skyline ? admire its distinctive Expressionist-style architecture designed to mirror the nearby mountains and glaciers during your Iceland cruise. Need relaxation of the highest order? Take the sub-hour drive to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by volcanic vistas

The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. St. John's (Newfoundland)
Set against the backdrop of the wild Atlantic sea, St. Johns is defined by animated locals, colorful houses and its own brand of folk music. In the capital of Newfoundland ? the island of fishing villages, kitchen parties and bakeapple jam ? you can marvel at historic landmarks dating back to John Cabots voyage in 1497, before you hit the town to join in the lively pub scene. Hungry for nature? Cruise to Newfoundland to hike the 80 miles of walking trails, or hit the waters outside the harbor to catch a glimpse of icebergs and humpback whales.
Corner Brook
Surrounded by the Blomidon Mountains, Corner Brook is the ultimate outdoor playground. Captain James Cook might have beaten you to the punch when he arrived here in 1767, but theres no such thing as a bad time to discover this fjords end sheltered in the Bay of Islands off the West Coast of Newfoundland. The locals are warm, the water is cold, and the fun factor is high. Hike, paddle, boat, bike, fish and sightsee your way through scenic Humber Valley, and experience the towering cliffs and waterfalls of Gros Morne National park.
Quebec City
Quebec City blends old-world eye candy with fresh attitude from modern boutiques and coffee shops to cutting-edge music festivals. Set upon the mighty St. Lawrence River, the city holds more than four centuries of history, a vibrant contemporary art scene and an abundance of gastronomic discoveries. Step back in time and explore the Old City. Pass through imposing stone walls and walk cobblestone streets ? youll notice a range of architectural styles, from Baroque to art deco. With Quebec City cruises you can experience a sugar rush at one of the many boulangeries. Then, walk it off with a visit to the iconic Chateau Frontenac towering over the Quebec capital.
Charlottetown
Soak in the Victorian-era vibe of Charlottetown, the provincial capital of Prince Edward Island. Hit the citys compact waterfront boardwalks to stroll its historical sights and maritime heritage. Take a guided walking tour, board a double-decker bus, or step back in time with a horse-drawn carriage ride. Cruise to Charlottetown and venture out of the town center and encounter sandy beaches, rolling green hills, red caves and coves. Take a drive to the North Shore, where youll see the quaint villages and farmland that inspired the classic novel "Anne of Green Gables."
Sydney, Nova Scotia
An embattled town on Cape Breton Island in Canada with a coal-mining legacy, Sydney is a very old town that now leans on tourism. "The Steel City" maintains its role as a thriving port, and its host of heritage buildings is of considerable significance.

New York
The city that never sleeps is quite possibly the world's most illustrious city. Known for its brazen streets, glamorous lifestyles and intriguing crowds, the Big Apple is home to a dizzying number of world-renowned attractions, including the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Central Park and Broadway.

This vast array of wonderful beaches offers you opportunities to swim with the dolphins in a tropical lagoon and come face-to-face with alligators during an Everglades airboat tour. Or stroll through a tropical rainforest while hundreds of butterflies flutter above you.

Nearby, the Central Bank Museum contains pre-Columbian relics from indigenous tribes.
Callao (Lima)
Lima, founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535, is a fascinating city and a treasure trove of history. Explore ancient Incan archeological sites, or stroll through the elegant cathedrals and opulent palaces dating from Spanish colonial times. Downtown Lima is crowded, but youll enjoy exploring the citys neighborhoods
Easter Island
Located in the South Pacific more than 2,000 miles off the Chilean coast, Easter Island's not the easiest place to reach. (If you're interested, the easiest access is by air from Santiago or Tahiti.) But isolation has helped preserve the 1,500-year-old mysterious congregation of volcanic rock sculptures (maoi) that's the island's biggest claim to fame. After exploring the unique landscape, relax on an uncrowded beach and ponder one of the most mysterious places on Earth.
Pitcairn Island
