Day 1 – FLY TO DELHI

Fly to Delhi for a two-night stay in this colourful, thriving city.

DAY 2: DISCOVER DELHI

Take a full day to explore India's capital. Starting in Old Delhi, embark on a rickshaw ride through the atmospheric streets, visiting fascinating Jama Masjid. Venture into a local market where you'll learn about local herbs and spices. Cross into New Delhi to view the colonial grandeur of the Rajpath, inlcuding the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, finishing the day with a welcome meal.

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO AGRA

Travel from Delhi to Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal! Pay a visit to the beautifully intricate Itmad-ud-Daulah tomb, also known as the Baby Taj, before exploring the mammoth Agra Fort. The imperial city of the Mughal rulers, within its mighty walls you'll find magnificent palaces, audience halls and mosques.

DAY 4: TAJ MAHAL

Spend the morning at the city's most iconic sight, the Taj Mahal. A monument to love built for the Mumtaz Mahal, the favourite wife of Shah Jahan, the Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. From a distance the effect is ethereal but get up close and you can admire the intricate pietra dura (stone inlay) work. Drive to Ranthambore National Park, India's most famous tiger reserve.

DAY 5: TIGERS OF RANTHAMBORE

Enjoy both morning and afternoon canter safaris through the national park, keeping your eyes peeled for tigers! There are about 50 majestic Bengal tigers living amongst Ranthambore's undulating landscapes, as well as leopards, nilgai, sloth bears, wild boar, hyena, and over 300 species of bird.

DAY 6: JAIPUR

Travel to Jaipur, the 'Pink City' and capital of Rajasthan State. On arrival, visit two of the city's top sights, the Maharaja's City Palace, still the home of the city's royal family today, and Jantar Mantar Observatory, a fascinating collection of wonderful instruments designed to measure the heavens.

DAY 7: AMER FORT

Begin the day with a brief photo stop at Hawa Mahal, the spectacular 'Palace of the Winds', before travelling out of the city to admire the majestic Amer Fort, the colossal 16th-century yellow and pink sandstone fort just 11 kilometres out of Jaipur. Back in the city head to a craft centre to learn about traditional artistries such as block printing and carpet weaving before browsing the local bazaar at Choti Choper.

DAY 8: TRAVEL TO JODHPUR

Drive to Jodhpur. This evening, browse the fragrant Subzi Mandi (spice market) before strolling through the bustling Sardar Market with it's lovely clock tower.

DAY 9: MEHRANGARH FORT

Sat high above the city on a sandstone plinth, the Mehrangarh Fort is one of Rajasthan's most impressive sights. Spend the morning strolling through it palaces, temples and gardens before visiting Jaswant Thada Memorial and the museum in the magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace. Later, travel by jeep to visit the villages of the Bishnoi tribe.

DAY 10: RANAKPUR TEMPLES

Depart Jodhpur and begin the drive to Udaipur, stopping at the Ranakpur Temples for a guided tour. Enjoy lunch and arrive in Udaipur where the rest of the day is free for you to relax or do some local shopping. Udaipur is a beautiful city of lakes, palaces and temples, a perfect place to unwind.

DAY 11: UDAIPUR

Spend the day exploring Udaipur, visiting Sahelion Ki Bari Gardens, the Folk Museum and Mewar Art Gallery. This afternoon, explore the magnificent City Palace before a relaxing cruise on Lake Pichola.

DAY 12: DASADA

After an early breakfast drive to Dasada, visiting Rani Ki Vav at Patan and the Sun Temple enroute. After check-in you will enjoy a camel cart ride to a nearby village followed by a cultural dance performance at your resort, before dinner.

DAY 13: EXPLORE AHMEDABAD

Today enjoy a morning safari to the Little (Desert) Rann of Kutch. After lunch, depart for Ahmedabad en-route visiting Adalaj Vav stepwells - Hutheesingh Temple. Continue your drive after the visit and check in at the hotel on arrival.

DAY 14: AHMEDABAD - MUMBAI

Embark on a heritage walk through the narrow streets of Ahmedabad’s old town to admire centuries-old architecture, before savouring the tranquillity of Sabarmati Ashram. This peaceful place by the river was Gandhi’s headquarters during India’s struggle for independence; here you can learn about his life and teachings. Take a train to Mumbai.

DAY 15: MUMBAI

Tour the thrilling city of Mumbai today. Drive past the Gateway of India and along Marine Drive. Visit the majestic Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus, before exploring the busy Crawford Market.

DAYS: 16-17 DEPART MUMBAI

Today any time before your flight will be at leisure. You will then be transferred to the airport according to the departure time of your flight to Australia, arriving home the same or following day.
